• Preterm or low birth weight infants have very specific nutritional needs. As stated by the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN): Preterm infants should be fed breast milk, with supplementation considered when necessary to meet the infant’s nutritional needs1.
